The Secretary to the Admiralty to Mr. Hammond - (Received January 3) Sir, I am commanded by my Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to send you herewith, for the information of Earl Russell, a copy of a letter from Commodore Dunlop, dated the 5th ultimo, and of its inclosures, reporting the sailing of the Spanish expedition from Havana for Vera Cruz on the 30th November and the 1st and 2nd of December last. Sir, I have the honour to transmit herewith, to be laid before the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty, copy of a letter and its inclosures which I have this day addressed to Rear-Admiral Sir A. Sir, I have the honour to acquaint you that the Spanish expedition for Vera Cruz sailed from this place in three divisions on 30th ultimo and 1st and 2nd instants, under the command of Rear-Admiral Rubalcava, who sailed on 1st instant, with his flag in the paddle-steamer "Isabel la Catolica". Inclosed is a list of the vessels forming the expedition. The troops embarked amount to 6,000 of all arms, under the command of Don Manuel Gasset.
