FROM INFORMATION SUPPLIED TO THE BRITISH GOVERNMENT BY MR. DE PIEES, ONE OF THE PRINCIPLE HAITIEN MERCHANTS IN THAT PORT, 1865.

One Battalion of the 30th Regiment of Infantry, consisting of about 110 men
The Second Regiment of Infantry 200 men
Two Battalions 4th Regiment of Artillery 200 men
Two Infantry Battalions of the Cape National Guard
One Battalion of Artillery of the Cape National Guard
One Scout Company of Cavalry of the Cape National Guard
Total for these Cape National Guard units about 400 men

Volunteers of all classes 200 men
Two Battalions of Infantry, National Guard of L'Acul 150 men
Parts of different Regiments of the Interior, retained at the Cape 200 men
Sailors of the Port 35 men
Dominican Volunteers 40 men

TOTAL 1,535 men

The attacking Army of President Geffrard contained about 5,000 men.
