1884 All straps have a Royal Blue field.
General of Brigade: As per Fig.1 but without the stars. Colonel: Gold lace and gilt button with silver star. ( Fig.2. ) Lieutenant Colonel: Lace as per Fig.2. but with 2 silver stripes, as in Fig.3. Major: Lace as per Fig.2. but with a single silver stripe. 1st Captain: As per Fig.3. with 3 stripes of gold lace. 2nd Captain: As per Fig.3. with 2 outer stripes on gold lace and the centre one in silver lace. Lieutenant: As per Fig.3. but with 2 gold lace stripes. Sub-Lieutenant: Gold lace around border with a single gold lace stripe. ( Fig.3 ) 1914 All shoulder bars have a Black field
General of Brigade: As per Fig.4. without the stars but with more laurel leaves on the central branches. Brigadier General: As per Fig.4. without the stars and central branches of laurel leaves. Colonel: Silver stars with gold lace on inner border. ( Fig.5. ) Lieutenant Colonel: As per Fig.5. but with 2 stars. Major: As per Fig.5. but with 1 star. 1st Captain: Gold lace on inner border with 3 gold bars. ( Fig.6. ) 2nd Captain: As per Fig.6. but with the 2 outer bars in gold lace and the central bar in silver lace. Lieutenant: As per Fig.6. with 2 gold bars.
