Editorial

This marks the beginning of the second year of EGG. It also marks the time that I need to ask for help of the financial variety from the readers. EGG costs a good bit to put out. Last year I resolved to do it at my own expense so I could learn how to do things. I'm afraid my budget, and my wife, now prevent me from continuing this. Fortunately, I am still an amateur who believes that writing and publishing is something akin to public service that one does to benefit the whole hobby. Consequently this year I resolve to put EGG out at my cost - $7 - a person. I will ask the same price from overseas readers as I do from domestic readers (since I really like getting letters from far away - and I sure you enjoy reading them). So I ask all of you, if you enjoy reading EGG, please send $7 (Checks made out to Chris Engle) to write. Your aid is greatly appreciated.

I am also interested in reading any game magazines you put out. I would like to trade you a subscription to EGG for what ever you put out. If we do this I am not asking for any money. In fact I would like to make this arrangement with as many people as possible since It keeps me in touch with what everyone is doing.

MWAN advertised this year that I was sending out a free copy of EGG to anyone who wrote for it. (In fact I was sending them out all that way). I plan to continue to do this for the next year. So if you know anyone who wants to take a look at EGG, Just have them write me and I'll send them a copy.

To wrap up on all this policy stuff, I am interested in having people exchange ideas, not make money (I have a day Job for that). If you really can't swing $7 and want to continue getting EGG, write me and I'll keep you on the list. There are other ways than money to support a magazine (like writing articles, reviews, and running games presented here for your local game clubs).

So much for the policy for EGG vol. 2. You have probably noticed that this EGG is a little later than usual. The reason for this is that I got married in May. Following that terrifying experience, Terri and I went over to England for two weeks (and I had another terrifying experience - driving a stick shift Ford in London during the rush hour!) All this made EGG7 a little late. I expect to have it out by early July. I expect to have EGG8 back on schedule.

If you have any articles, new rules, or want to write a letter to comment on anything you've read here, please send it in! I keep trying to write up ideas on games that are meant to look at them in odd ways so I am open to just about anything.
