This marks the end of my first year of EGG! Fox those of you who got EGG1 I thank you for participating. For those of You who have come on board as the year has progressed, I'm glad to have you. I set out last year to put out a magazine that would cover the type of article that tweaks imagination and forces some kind of reexamination of what we are doing when we play games. I believe I have been able to do this. I especially want to thank Hal Thinglum, Paddy Griffith, and Chris Kemp. Hal encouraged me right after I started publishling and provided me with a wonderful role model of how a small publisher does things. Paddy wrote letters for the first couple of Issues, and provides a rule model in how to encourage revolution within gaming. Chris may not have even realised help. But as editor of the NUGGET, he praised my matrix project and has supported it by running matrix games at English conventions. Each of you has greatly contributed to this year. Thank you. I started out last year with the intention of putting the first years EGG out at my own expense. I did this so that I could learn how to edit (I've only been partly successful there) and have time to experiment with EGG's format. I also wanted time to establish a track record before getting into the business end of publishing. I'm glad I did it this way. I feel comfortable in saying that EGG is worth something (a year ago, I wouldn't have belived that). Now I will need to charge subscription to continue to operate. I did not aim to make a profit from this venture since I view gaming as my hobby, not my job. My plan is that in this year I will put EGG out at cost. My estimates of this place the total at $7 per year for each person. I will charge the same price to everyone who gets EGG, domestic or foreign. I only ask that payment be made in US dollars, and that checks be made out to CHRIS ENGLE. On a different note, I need to let ever one know that EGG7 might be either a little late or a little shorter than I am used to. I am getting married in May and going off on honeymoon of 2 weeks. This is going to put me behind (but for a good cause!). As always I would love to hear from you. I can use any articles that you can write on experimental games or your ideas about what it is you do in your present games. 'Nuff said.
