Welcome to EGG 28! As you may notice, the quality of this issue is a little better than before (I hope). That is because by wife finally got me to break down and buy a Laser Printer. I'm still not certain how to work the device of satan, but I am certain it will do my bidding if I perform occasional rituals of blood sacrifice for it! Ahhh, technology, who says it isn't magic? I've been doing some reading for the last article in the morale series, which will appear next issue. "The Cost of Discipleship" by Eric Bonhoefer, "Between the Devil and the Dragon" by Eric Hoffer, and "Alcoholics Anonymous" by Bill W. Interesting stuff. They a11 talk about the importance of surrender in gaining ultimate victory. They are not your normal wargames sources, but they tell a lot more about the actual process of working morale than a hundred military history books do. Terri is again out of work, so we are in temporary financial straits. Still I don't expect it will slow down my convention season too much this year. I am planning to run only one matrix game, a Robin Hood version of the siege of Balfor Castle. I'll put the calculated risk rules I'll use in the next EGG. I'll also be running a calculated risk skirmish game using the rules in this issue. "Shoot Dillinger!" should be fun. I've got 1:43 scale period cars to use with the 25mm figures I've collected. If possible, I'll trot a WWI 1918 game out. Maybe at Winter Wars, or more likely at Nashcon. I've reduced the combat tables down to a special set of dice - ala the original Kriegspiel game. I think it will be very fun, but as yet I've not been able to do more than solo runs.
