Rescue Raiders

Computer Wargame Review

by Mike Gilbert

My hands are getting cold here at the old keyboard, guys. so, let's take a look at RESCUE RAIDERS by SIR-TECH. "RR" is a WW II wargame with a difference. The first is that Terrorists from the future are planning to prevent the allies from victory in France. You must stop them. Unlike board games, "RR" is presented and scrolls horizontally and has radar display ala "Defender". The arcade features your command chopper, ground forces, missiles, tanks, engineers, etc. You must devise strategy against the enemy. It's not simple. You have to purchase forces in real time and the technology keeps improving on each level. That bunker at St.Lo, after 2 hours, I need help.

Points are given + and - for damage inflicted, taken, overspending. The graphics are excellent but the sound effects could have been better - they may be with a Mockingboard.

There are nine levels to Rescue Raiders, I'm worried.

From Sir-Tech and highly recommended.
