PRINCE EUGENE AT WAR: 1809 This is an in-depth military history of the heretofore largely neglected Italian and Hungarian campaigns of Napoleon's step-son, Prince Eugene de Beauharnais, viceroy of Italy, and commander-in-chief of the French Army of Italy. From the preparation for war through the conclusion of hostilities, Robert M. Epstein presents lucid, factualr unbiased and exceptionally detailed analyses of the maneuvers and combats of the Franco-Austrian War of 1809 between Prince Eugene and his opponent, Archduke John of Austria.

PRINCE EUGENE AT WAR: 1809 comes hardbound in a handsome full color dust jacket. The book is printed on high quality stock and the manuscript is complemented with numerous maps of the battles and theater of war, plus many black and white photos of military leaders within Eugene's army. The author, who received his B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. from Temple University, is currently a professor of military history at the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College; he painstakingly researched this work from Prince Eugene's own letters and other family documents and his conclusions will be of obvious value to the student of the period.
