It has been our occassional pleasure to receive articles from Mr. Hofschroer on various topics, but most of them have related to the Prussian army. As a result. LE is hardly surprising to find that he has recently had two booklets published on his favorite topic - the Prussians.

These two booklets are a continuation of the ongoing Men-At-Amrs series, but are far superior to all of the Napoleonic booklets they have published so far.

These booklets provide a good, solid, though brief review of the organization, evolution, uniforms and some campaign history of the Prussian light and line infantry between 1972 and 1815. However, as each booklet is only 40 pages long the coverage i-, by necessity more of an overview rather than an indepth review. Based on my own researches, they are completely accurate in the material the. present. The material presented is factual and well presented.

It is important to remember that this series is principally a uniform study and, as such, about half of each manuscript is devoted to that topic. The plates and illustration are up to the usual standards of the other Osprey booklets.

For someone wishing more than the usual cursory review of an army crammed into a small booklet these booklets are highly recommended. An awful lot of information has been crammed into these 80 pages.
