Napoleonic Italian Brigade

The following is for Dick Possini who is trying to raise an Italian Brigade.

DRAGONI NAPOLEONS

Staff: 4 squadrons of 2 companies each of 3 officers, 1 trumpeter, 90 N.C.O.'s and privates. 1 depot company.

This regiment of the Italian Army served in Spain in 1809, Russian Campaign of 1812, and was finally cut to pieces in the 1813 campaign in Germany. The best picture of this unit is on page 105, with a historical profile on page 135 of "Military Dress of the Penisula War" by Martin Windrow and Gerry Embleton, Jean has a copy.
