I think it is time to restate the purpose of this Newsletter and the reasons behind its creation. It is now 4 years that we are playing Wargames in the Napoleonic period. I don't intend to make an history of the club for that please see issues #4 and 5. We have come up with a set of rules in which every one of the old members had a hand in it at one time or another. this was accomplished
(2) by asking everybody's opinion and then coming up with rules from all that. Some of the rules even have the names and dates on the origins of the rule...Open your rule book and see for yourself. Countless hours of work have been spent by the writer to make this possible. In spite of that many rules are obsolete, incomplete, etc. and need rewriting. Furthermore, it is impossible to satisfy everybody. For that reason anybody can challenge any established rule within the framework provided in issues #4 and #5. The burden to prove something wrong is on the challenger. It is quite obvious that gross errors must be corrected quickly. It is by no means an intention to prevent changes. On the contrary it is one of the primary purposes of this Newsletter to seek IDEAS, to exchange point of views, to present evidences, to evaluate data, on everything pertinent to the game and to come up with new rules. We have some pretty good examples of that going on right now in this issue as well as in the past issues and more to come. Any member has the right to propose a rule or a rule change within the framework given in issues #4 and #5. It is the privilege of anyone to disagree with any ideas, proposed suggestions etc. published here. It is not because an idea has been published that it's going to be accepted. Only the author has the responsibility of what is written. If you don't make your point of view known it is obvious that it can not be taken in consideration and nobody is to bland but yourself. Another purpose is to motivate members to get involved and to become an active part of the club. Needless to say that courteous articles are requested. Than you very much in advance. NOTE. It is the privilege of the editor to hold the publication of any article that would not be courteous, offending or prejudice behind reason to any member. Appeal to the decision can be made in the front of a committee made by the senior members of the club. On top of that, anyone can contact by a letter any or all members.
