Dear Jean, I have really been enjoying Empires, Eagles, and Lions. I think you should pride yourselves with the frequency of the Issues. The Seven Years War Society Journal, for instance, has only seen one issue so far, but is still alive. I would like to order some back issues at this time: # 15 and 16 inclusive. Also, do you have a set of society rules? It might be a good idea to include a set in new subscriptions, as there are references to them in the magazine. The English society does this. There was a question in the last issue regarding the British sappers having artillery training. Connolly's History of the Royal Sappers and Miners, (pp. 105-106) says:
By the way, a very good likeness of my friend, Steve Carpenter, on the back cover.
Harry Jarosak Note from the Editor. Thank you very much Mr. Jarosak for your letter. Needless to say that we, at E,E&L, appreciate complements. We produce a nice piece of work... thanks to the dedication of everyone involved, editors, contributors, consultants etc.. We should not forget the cooperation and the understanding of the two editors' wives...they may not always be happy with our activities, but yet without their backing and cooperation the all thing would not be possible... Credit should be given to everyone who deserves it. We take good note on your suggestion to make the rules available to our readers. We are in the process of revising our rule book, which is still an incredible mess of some 240 pages .... We could use more help ... Any takers?
