This part of EMPIRES, EAGLES & LIONS is sorely needed. We have always many questions and, if the answer or answers don't come in the next issue, it's usually lost for ever .... Consequently, we think it's a good idea to make a list of the latest questions and repeat them in a "WANTED" list.

QUESTION: What became of the Principality of Monaco during the period of the Napoleonic Wars? Only 370 acres in size, this area had been ruled by the House of Grimaldi since they captured the town fortress in 1297.

QUESTION: Does anyone have any information relating to the hussars of the Grand Duchy of Weimar from 1806 to 1809? I have a Tritt postcard of the unit but nothing else. T. DeVoe

Question#1. What is the length of the Austrian light cavalry carbine? Range, etc.

Question#2. What is the length of the Austrian Dragoon musket, range etc.?

Question#3. What is the length of the Prussian hussars carbine, range etc.?

Question#4. Where the Prussian dragoons armed with a carbine or a short musket? What are the specifications?

Question#5. Was part of the British light cavalry equipped with a rifled carbine. What are the specifications.

Question#6. Does anyone have any information relating to the hussars of the Grand Duchy of Weimar from 1806 to 1809? I have a Tritt postcard of the unit but nothing else. (Tom DeVoe)

Question#7. At Somosierra the Polish Lancers of the Guard, not lancers yet, made a legendary charge against the Spanish Army. After the charge Napoleon saluted their standard. What was that standard? The Polish Lancers of the Guard received an Eagle only at a later date.

Question#8. What Italian flag was lost on September 16, 1813 at Weichselbourg? It can not be a flag or fanion of the Italian Guard which was in Italy at the time. Could it be a fanion of the Velite of Turin?

Question#9. In issue#21, Don Graves gives us some precisions on the British Engineering Troops in the British Army during the Napoleonic Wars. Unfortunately nothing is said about their possible capability of firing guns. If the 300 members of theRoyal Sappers and Miners Corps that were sent to Spain in 1813 after they underwent a course in siege-work and bridging, one can not deny the possibility of a training in firing guns since usually siege work almost invariably included the building of siege-gun positions etc. ,

Question#10. What was the uniform and organization of the light Cavalry regiments serving in India during the Napoleonic Wars?

Question#11. What was the organization of the Italian Medical Corps from 1808 to 1814? What types of rolling stock did they use?

Question#12. What was the strength of the Navy of the Kingdom of Italy? What types of vessels mounting what type of cannon? Very little has appeared in English concerning this aspect of the Napoleonic Wars, yet they were many small actions against the British Fleet.
