More Authors

Editorial

by Jean A. Lochet (Mr.)

We have the pleasure to present this February issue on time with more authors. We have a very broad series of articles covering several subjects and more important some answers and comments on standing problems and questions. A very good example is the article by Ray Johnson on the Austrian firepower etc. and also the excellent comments by Don Graves on the Austrian Army. All that is very interesting and certainly answers many questions. It is also very important to see the participation on the increase so the usual authors like Tom DeVoe and the writer can relax a little.

Personally I don't enjoy to fill up half of the magazine with my articles. No doubt it was justified if we wanted to see the magazine published but it is my feeling that in the long run the effect would be negative since it is not funny to listen always to same source of information. As a matter of fact that may take a dictatorial trend and it is far from the objective of this magazine. Let me say once more that we want here to have an open forum for the exchange of ideas, concepts and substantiated information. I say once more that most of my articles have for object to motivate comments and complement of information.

In this issue, we have also the pleasure to continue the interesting series by Jon R.Harrison on THE POLISH LEGIONS IN ITALY 1797-1803. We are also starting a special column for the questions given by the membership. It appears that many of the questions remain unanswered. I am the first one to agree that it is hard to keep up with Tom DeVoe appetite .... but we can always try. We should just begin by making a simple list of them and see from time to time where we stand.

We have for the near future many good articles coming up including some battle reports by wargamers already known by many of you and not member of the New Jersey Association of Wargamers. That should be most interesting.
