I really enjoyed reading Don's article on the Compagnies Franches de la Marine. It is exactly what I mean about calling a cat a cat. Don's story is right to the point and does bring any confusion. Congratulation, Don. I have a great deal more information on the Compagaies Franches de la Marine. I could publish an article with drawings and information on uniforms if enough interest is shown, since we are dealing here with a period outside of the Napoleonic era.
