Gorget and Sash

by Jean Lochet

Our friend and "Flags & Uniforms" consultant, the professional historian Curt Johnson is starting a magazine for wargamers covering early modern warfare (1500-1789. It is called Gorget & Sash. The first issue should be published in September.

Even if one is not a wargamer in that "early" period of modern warfare, I would recommend to consider this magazine for the simple reason that the tactics and organizations of the different armies involved in the Napoleonic wars were the evolution of all the military events that took place before 1789.

Among the articles to be found in the first issue we find: Tactics and Organizations in the 16th Century, and French Infantry Flags in the Thirty Years War.

It will be a quarterly publication. The subscription is $8.00 per year.
