QUESTION 1812-2-1: What were the activities of the 32nd United States Infantry during the War of 1812? Did they wear the grey uniform usually associated with Winfield Scott's troops in 1813-1814? Any answers from the readers? QUESTION 1812-2-2: Philadelphia Marine Artilery In September of 1814, the garrison of Fort Mifflin, guarding the southern approach to Philadelphia on the Delaware River, was the Philadelphia Marine Artilery, commanded by Captain John Annesley. The artillery mounted in Fort Mifflin at that time (since 1802 and not changed until after 1822) consisted of:
2 9-pdrs 18 24-pdrs 1 6-pdrs 3 18-pdrs 2 brass 24-pdrs on field carriages 4 brass 6-pdrs on field carriages 4 10-inch mortars plus 2 3-pdrs dismounted and 4 other (currently unknown) dismounted cannons. Do any of your readers have any information on this militia artillery unit and its ability to properly handle the above variety of artillery?
