Looking over an old catalog from Red Lancer, in 1994 a very fine example of the Waterloo medal awarded to a Cameron Highlander went for $1,250. A Waterloo Medal belonging to a sergeant of the Grenadier Guards, and marked "defenders of Hougomont," was priced at $1,550. But another Waterloo medal was going for a mere $950, presumably because it had belonged to a mere Dragoon Guard. A Brunswick Waterloo medal was priced at $200, an Hanoverian one at $475 and a Nassauer one at $375. Clearly, Wellington's German contingents are still under valued.
