A PARTIAL ANSWER TO QUESTION 105-3
by Mark Peaty

The majority of this information comes from Omans History of the Peninsular War, a good place to find such material.

I. As of February 1st, 1809:

IVth Corps: Sebastiani

2nd Division: General Leval

    1st Brigade: von Porbeck (Baden)
      2nd Nassau Regiment: 2 battalions
      4th Baden Regiment: 2 battalions
Baden foot artillery battery: 6 4-pdr
(The Baden artillery was reequiped with French 4-pdr at the Spanish frontier.)

    2nd Brigade: General Chasse´ (Holland)

      "Holland" Regiment: 2 battalions
      1 company Dutch sappers, miners
      1 Dutch horse battery: 6 4-pdr.

    3rd Brigade: General Grandjean

Hesse-Darmstadt "Gross und Erbprinz": 2 battalions
      Frankfurt: 1 battalion
      Guards of Paris: 1 battalion

Oman gives a total of 3,127 but does not list any artillery but does not list any artillery or the Guard of Paris. The above O.B. comes from Otto von Pivka work on Nassau and Oldenburg, with additional artillery data from Ray Johnson's Napoleonic Armies Vol.1.

II. As of July 15, 1809

IVth Corps: Sebastiani

3rd Division: General Leval

    2nd Nassau: 2 battalions
    4th Baden: 2 battalions
    Hesse-Darmstadt: 2 battalions
    Holland: 2 battalions
    Frankffurt: 1 battalion
    Total: 4537

III. As of January 15, 1810

Now 2nd Division under still under Leval.
Same units as for July 15, 1809. Division stationed at Segovia.

IV. As of July 15, 1811

Now part of the Army of the Center: King Joseph

    Total: 4214

Also of note, Trilard's cavalry - Army of the Center
Westphalian Chevau-legers )
Nassau Chevau-legers ) Total 663

V. As of October 15,1812

Army of the center: King Joseph

Division Darmagnac

75th of the line: 3 battalions
    2nd Nassau: 2 battalions

    Westphalian Chevau-legers ) Trilard

VI. As of May 29, 1813

Army of the Center: King Joseph

Division Darmagnac

    Brigade Chasse´
28th of the Line: 3 battalions
75th of the Line: 3 battalions
      Total 1794 (35 officers and 1759 men)

    Brigade Neunstein

      2nd Nassau
      4th Baden
      Frankfurt
      Total 2678 (101 officers and 2577 men)

    Brigade Avy:

      27th Chasseurs
      Nassau Chasseurs
      Westphalian Chasseurs (with Suchet)

Army of the Center: artillery total: 30 guns.

VII. As of July 1813

Army of Spain - Reserve - Marshal Soult

Brigade Neunstein:
2nd Nassau: 2 battalions
4th Baden: 2 battalions
Frankfurt: 1 battalion
Total 2066

The Nassau Chasseurs are with Soult's cavalry Divison of the Army of Spain.

As mentioned in EEL 103 by Tom DeVoe, the question is a monumental one and is undoubtly covered somewhere in greater detail that what I can offer. As for the artillery, in Martinien's "Tableaux par Corps". There are entries for Baden artillery, page 788 and 789 which states there were casualties in Spain on January 27, at Arzobispo, July 28, 1809 at Talavera, August 9, 1809 at Toledo.

Note from Editor: As mentioned by Mark Peaty, the above partial answer barely covers the tipof the iceberg. Obviously it requires a great deal of research. Any taker?
