Seasons greeting from Partizan Press. We are pleased to have got ECW Times back into production during 1998 and are already planning for next year. We have devoted quite a bit of Number 55 to the Execution of Charles I, the 350th anniversary of which is fast approaching, and hope to similarly mark the 400th anniversary of Oliver Cromwell's birth. So if you have an opinion to express on his contribution to "the Great Rebellion" now is the time to dip your quill. Remember to keep us advised of all Civil War related events such as study days, re-enactment and living history so that we can give them a plug , and maybe attend ourselves. In amongst the many illustrations used in this issue you will find a few from Stephen Beck taken from the collection of his works soon to be published by Caliver Books. Have a good time in '99 and don't lose your head.... oops. It is with great pleasure, and not a little pride, that we congratulate Partizan Press supporter, author, contributor and all round nice bloke Barry Denton on his being awarded the MBE in the Queen's New Years Honours List for Service to Seventeenth Century History. There is no truth in the vicious rumour that his books will now double in price!!
