The following officers of Col John Tynte's Horse are named in a series of documents concerning an uprising of villagers in South Brent, Somerset, on Good Friday 1645. Published by the Somerset Archaeological and Natural History Society in their Transactions for 1919 under the title 'A Path of the Civil War'.
Captain Pauling (may be the same man) Captain Lancaster Lieutenant Henry Tyntt - Capt Pauling's Troop Lieutenant Brown Quarter Master William Weeks The same source also mentions a John Somerset as having held a commission under Sir Hugh Wyndham as captain of a troop of horse to police the area. A Robert Sheppard had served as his Lieutenant.
