This is a special double issue of the Dragoman. Vol. II, No. 1 is our regular issue and this issue, Vol. II, No. 2, is a special issue devoted to the Battle of Heliopolis, one of the more important, but little known struggles of the French invasion of Egypt.

This double issue serves two fuctions. By having two issues come out at once we can give you the regular magazine you have come to expect, and still devote sufficient coverage to explore this important battle in detail. On a selfish, personal level, it also allows us to get back on schedule.

For numerous reasons we have been suffering from deadline creep, with our last issue, labeled as spring 1997, not hitting the streets until the middle of last summer.
