Thank you for your response to the first issue of the Dragoman. The response has more than justified the continuation of this publication. While we are still just beginning, we are already growing. A goodly number of you wrote in asking for us to expand our focus from just the Napoleonic Era to include the entire Ottoman period from the 1300s to the close of World War I. I have no problem with this and look forward to including articles on other periods in future issues. But for this effort to be successful, it will require your help. While I know a fair amount about the entire Ottoman period, my area of expertise is the Napoleonic Era. So if this publicatioin is going to cover other periods you will have to do much of the work. Have you researched a battle, a troop type or a commander of another period? If so, please share what you know with us and we will do what we can to get your work into print. We also want to take this opportunity to thank those of you who responded to our Help Wanted column in the first issue. We got responses to both questions. The material on Pasvanoglu is still sketchy and we would welcome anything else anyone knows. But the information on the Ottoman artillery was great and as a result we are devoting a goodly portion of this issue to the Ottoman artillery of the Napoleonic Era. Once again, thanks for all your help and keep up the good work.
