From Hal Thinglum of MWAN I have e-mail!! My family has had it for about a year or so and has kept prompting me to allow them to give me an e-mail address. However, I always declined. Last week, I let Kate (13) make me out an e-mail address and I don't see how I functioned without it! Wonderful way of communicating quickly and efficiently (well, most of the time it is efficient; I did try to download a catalog and it knocked my computer out for two days so there are things which I am not good at!). I hope this finds you well, Major Bill! It'll be nice to communicate with you now via e-mail. I appreciate what you've been doing with Rich Black via "Upcoming Events". Thank you very much! Will you be at Historicon? I am going this year. Greg Novak and Tom Harris and I will be driving out there and returning Sunday. I am looking forward to seeing you there (I hope!). After a five year period of "lack of interest" in the hobby, I am getting my juices flowing again and am glad of it. Haven't felt like doing anything during that time period and it is fun to have an interest again in something! The "periods / projects" are just leaping out of me - sat down the other day and listed my periods of interests over the last few months and they totalled 15! Will have to put the breaks (sic) on some of them, but it felt good to have that sort of interest. I probably shouldn't pay any attention to being "reasonable/realistic" at this time, but rather, just enjoy myself. My current interest is 20mm FPW with the wonderful B&B Miniatures stuff. Chunky little figures with great character! Am having 2' X 2' terrain boards made for my table - have wanted them for a long time but couldn't justify cost. Am excited about seeing them when done. Am having them done for me as I have no talent for such activities. First one will feature a large town permanently attached to one board. Other villages, farms, manors, etc will be based and then placed upon a finished terrain board. Had eye surgery two months ago on both eyes; detached retina on the left and tear in the retina on the right; quite a shock! Right one has recovered ccompletely, but left is slow. Very sensitive to light, poor vision, poor depth perception, and I get extremely tired frequently. Haven't been able to jog yet due to being so tired. MD says I should wait two or three more months before getting eyes tested for new glasses as left one will improve more. I must be getting old? I didn't think so! Hoping to hear from you soon! Thanks again! I asked Hal about Todd Fisher's Emperor's Headquarters and he responded as follows: ...Re EHQ: Well, I was at EHQ when they were closed and packing up to move. They are moving to a new location in Rosemont - close to the airport and the expressway (294). The store, Tod tells me, will be considerably smaller and the "Grand Opening" will be August 15th. Tod asked about deadlines for advertising his reopening, so I assume he is not closing up shop. I should also point out that member Bernie Chambers is now working with the two Steves at 19th Century Miniatures.
