The NBoD meeting at Advance the Colors was really a Charlie Foxtrot. Rick Nance, the previous National Treasurer refused to recognize the vote electing me as the new National Treasurer. As such, he refused to hand over the National treasury as directed in writing by the NBoD president. His position was that as a corporation of the state of Missouri, at least one officer of the corporation must be a MO resident, that being he. Also, there was a question of who was the proper representative to the NBoD from the Kansas City Region. Since one of these two warring factions would have to have been seated to achieve a quorum, we decided that we had no quorum and that no official meeting would take place. It is probable that by the time you read this the National BoD will either disband or resolve this situation. This is a hobby and when people take too seriously the fact that we are a bunch of grown men playing with toy soldiers.... Just be thankful that you guys don't have to deal with these problems. Another Please Note: It dues time. My favorite time of the year (NOT!). If there is an envelope in this newsletter with your name on it, that means that your $10 are due (There are only 29 of you that are paid up for 1999). Please pay promptly as I really hate to come chasing after you. If you receive only one newsletter per family or location, additional members are only $2 though you may support the Society by contributing more. This is another of our periodic pleas for articles, battle reports, &c. The hopper is getting quite empty so please send in anything you might think of interest to Maj Bill.
