At Historicon this year, HMGS East presented to our own Maj. Bill with a plaque for his life-long efforts in promoting and growing the hobby. Bill was unable to attend Historicon, so I presented him with it at meeting weekend at the shop in August. Talking with other people at the show I soon realized that while Major Bill is not one of the “Wally’s basement” crowd he has never the less spent many years starting clubs wherever he was stationed at while in the service. While not being involved in the inception of HMGS Mid-South, I and many others can reap the benefits of his work. So the next time that you roll dice , remember that without Major Bill’s efforts Mid-South and war gaming in general would not be where it is today with out his and many others tireless efforts. “Vive La Bill” cried the old grognards as they wandered off to play the games Back to Dispatch September 2003 Table of Contents Back to Dispatch List of Issues Back to MagWeb Master Magazine List © Copyright 2003 by HMGS Mid-South This article appears in MagWeb.com (Magazine Web) on the Internet World Wide Web.
