You may note a new feel to this newsletter as John Hoover has assumed duties as the editor. Others up in Nashville will get this printed and mailed. What a relief. I have enjoyed immensely the duties letting you guys (and gals) know what is going on as well as providing reading of interest to you. Bottom line is that I'm physically no longer able to do all of the things necessary to put out the newsletter. John has promised to leave enough space to make my usual comments so you will still have to put up with me. NASHCON this year was a really great show and a success in every aspect but one. In spite of the increased attendance (+28 over last year) and a fantastic facility, we lost over $7000. Given that the show IS supposed to be our big fund raising project for the year, this is not good. We will be getting together to discuss ways to turn this around, and we still have another show (Reunion in Memphis) yet to go this year. Charlie Clay was present at NASHCON enjoying himself and pushing the Reunion show. Jim Venn from Shelbyville, TN has come forward to help maintain the membership list and all that entails (address changes &c.) and he will try to change the database over from my Apple based program to a PC based system. Last item is that serious consideration is being made to raise the dues from $10 to $15. I had thought about this before and now seems to be a good time to consider this and other possible improvements. This will be discussed at the monthly meeting in Nashville and by the Board of Directors.
