Renewal

by Major Bill Harting

Well, we were lucky. The Reunion barely broke even at a miniscule $8. It was only for the sharp eyes of the convention director Mike Randles who noted that we could save $100 as a non-profit in the facility rental that a more healthy return of $108 was finally realized. Thanks Mike for all your efforts.

Our next big show will be Siege of Augusta next month in Augusta, GA. I hope to see many of you there.

Naturally, we want to wish you the happiest of holiday seasons and may at least one present this year (even if you have to buy it yourself) be the weight of a neutron star.

We held Turkey Wars the Saturday after Thanksgiving at Lord Al's. It was sparsely attended and I'm sorely disappointed with all the Nashville guys who didn't show up. Maybe it was the fact that the event was not announced in these pages, though it has been occurring on the same day for the last twelve (12, yes count them) years.

For many of you (Hell, let's admit it, over 3/4 of you), this will be your last issue of the Dispatch as your dues (due 1 January) have not been paid and you will be dropped! In addition, we are in need of articles, so put pen to paper (or keystroke to computer) and submit to us so we all can have something to read and enjoy.

It should also be noted that the Dispatch appears on MagWeb.com and is read by many thousands. According to Russ of MagWeb.com, the Dispatch is consistently in the top 25 percent of the publications accessed.
