From David Clayton Hey Major Bill, My service from the QRF boys is shaky at best, and I hesitate to advertise and promote for any of their stuff that I don't already have "in hand". Aside from some of the items you were after and of course more Bofors Guns, I mostly have their Arab Israeli stuff on hand, Please let me know what's up! I will try to be at Cowpens, and for certain will be attending NashCon this year. The FANTASSIN sales are going really well, with the figure quality being compare to AB Miniatures out of the UXI Sold buttloads to the small crowd at Siegel Also have another dealer taking a bunch to Cold Wars for me. Getting lot's of activity also on the FREIKORP, but my ship hasn't come in yet for my huge, in-depth stocking order. I'll be billing the advance orders I've received, as soon as the product is available to me! I'd like to reassure potential FREIKORP buyers that it is a newly reconstituted company, casting with better, not brittle alloy. The "new" owner has taken on some new sculptors and has ambitious plans. I am looking forward to making this product line available as its never before, here in the U.S. Please also note that Chris von Fahenstock of Outland Games, is no longer licensed to manufacture FREIKORP, but assures me that he intends to continue to stock it in from me, so that he will be able to make it available to his customers. I don't know if you'd like to mention it also, but I've just decided to put my vast, entire Personal Collection of the 20/25mm Hinton Hunt Napoleonic Armies, up for sale! They contain over 1500 Cavalry, 10,000 Infantry, scads of artillery & guns, and other accessories. Asking price for the whole lot is in the vicinity of $30K, with the possibility of certain Armies being separately sold (for not less that $1K). Serious buyers only please! I can be contacted at my email: dacelan@ gateway'. net On another note Bill, since moving into Kennesaw over a year ago now, my home has been the sight of almost weekly, Friday Nite Wargames! I've been able to draw gamers from various and diverse groups around the metro-Atlanta area, many of them from this "northwest quadrant". We have guys from at least a half dozen clubs coming over to game a wide range of scales and periods, We have a lot of talented people, many of them GMing scenarios and rules of their own preference, but throwing them open to anyone who's interested. This month we will begin a project to put on 15mm ACW demo games (using Johnny Reb III) around the metro-Atlanta area, in public facilities, in order to attract new wargamers to our beloved hobby. Bill, myself and the guys would really appreciate it if you'd list me as a POC for the "Northwest Metro-Atlanta" (and Kennesaw, particularly) area. It appears that the others you list in the Dispatch as POC's are either inactive or dormant, as Bill Amick has informed me. I also try to provide the service of linking guys up with groups that game in periods or scales of their interest. You can put me down as: David A. Clayton, dacelan@gateway.net Guys can get a hold of me by email. Also please do not list my phone in the Membership Directory as I'd like to have a life outside the hobby! I tend to get inundated with calls, as I'm sure you can appreciate! You can also mention in the DISPATCH that our 25mm SYW Campaign continues and still has a few openings for interested parties. Soon you should be able to download reports from Scott Monsour's PLATO to NATO pipeline, Adios for now, Your friend, David From Keith Jordan: I just found a web site for the cake decorating company that makes 3 different palm trees. I haven't seen these in a long time (then again, I haven't really looked). You might pass this on to Duncan and anybody else who might want them. The company web site is: www. sugarcraft.com and the trees are at: http://www.sugarcraft.com/catalog/nov elties/novelties.htm#trees From Capt Paul Elkins: MAJ Bill: The following website has some awesome pics from Siege of Augusta-IX. If it's not too late, please include it in the Feb issue of the Dispatch (otherwise, put it in the March issue). http://www.garrison-clubs.org/clubs/charlottegallery.htm From Maj. Pete Panzeri (now in Korea) Last note: We [includes, Fred Hubig, Birdseye, myself, others] are now working on a big rematch of BORODINO'92 to take place SEPT 2002 [in Virginia, 25mm figs and about 100+ participants, 100+ dealers and attendees.] I'd like to include you and Midsouth on this plan. It's be GREAT if we could got some teams participating who collectively represent their "chapter, etc." Back to Dispatch February 2001 Table of Contents Back to Dispatch List of Issues Back to MagWeb Master Magazine List © Copyright 2001 by HMGS Mid-South This article appears in MagWeb (Magazine Web) on the Internet World Wide Web.
