With this issue we mark the end of our second year of publishing, and stand poised to begin the third. We've also made some changes in our editorial staff. Bob Miller has assumed the reins as Associate Editor, putting him in charge of production quality (he's not responsible for any errors in this one, I am. Bob's touring Pompeii as I type). Earl Toops has been named Senior Contributing Editor and following discussions between this issue and #9 will be assuming some other responsibilities that he doesn't know about yet (Don't read this Earl). To US/Canadian subscribers, I apologize for the absence of even numbered pages in last issue. I send material from here to our "publishing plant" in Maryland and apparently there was a rare oversight on their part and only one side of the master was copied. Bill Jeter was very quick to rectify the problem once it was pointed out and promised to send out new copies gratis which you should have received by now. I was delightfully surprised to see that their are still businessmen who take responsibility and work on a solution to a problem rather than spend time looking for someone to blame. This issue is the usual eclectic mixture of items, from the Black Death to commercial enterprises in space to a victorious Nazi Germany. For those of you who are dying to know what exactly is going on here with the Brainless of Baghdad. Well, there's an old expatriate proverb: "Even a toothless mangy dog can bark."
