Let Slip the Dogs of War

Editorial

CH41? Wasn't that supposed to be issued in February????

Yes, you're right. This is not only late, we are actually two issues late, or three depending on how you count things.

I'm going to make excuses. There was a lengthy build up to war and a lot of effort was spent on sending nearly daily updates to e-mail subscribers and members I could reach quick enough where the news would do some good. Then there was the decision to move house here in Dhahran the day the war started (or something along that line!) Then vacation (there went April) then May started looking like I might catch up, and someone started throwing bombs in Riyadh -- back to the updates. Come June and it looked like things were going to go well and then someone decided to switch my VP from the medical department and put him in charge of all Refining. So a new boss, a changed work circumstance and it was July.

Now its August -- and as I started on this British Airways pulled out of flying to Saudi Arabia amidst rumors that another major terrorist attack is planned, targeting western airlines.

You will notice some changes. First, this issue is, except for this page, no longer in columns. With the vast majority of you getting the PDF version it made more sense to go without columns so you could read the text easier on your screen. This issue is also in 12 point -- do you prefer this larger font size or should I go back to 10? (The font size this column is in)

Several of you asked about your subscriptions memberships. Because of the delay I have arbitrarily added two issues to everyone's existing subscription/membership. Bits N Pieces will be updated next issue or in CH43.

Cry "Havoc!" 42 will be out in two weeks. Cry "Havoc!" 43 in 4 weeks. And then CH 44 will be in your hands November 1!!!!
