Hi there -- yes, there is an amazing similarity between the data of the issue and the actual date you are receiving this! For the first time this year they actually correspond. In my last "editorial" I gave you a quick run down on why there had been a delay in finalizing and sending out CH #31. Basically I had been recovering from a long period of convalescence and pain following a herniated disk and subsequent surgery. It took the better portion of three months to finally recover, and then just as I was getting back into the swing of things, Rift Valley Fever appeared in Saudi Arabia. This viral hemorrhagic fever is particularly nasty and I am, after all, an epidemiologist by profession. Just about the time that settled down to a routine, all hell broke loose in the Middle East. Palestinians rioted and Arab children were gunned down by Israeli soldiers along with 92 others; mobs lynched Israeli soldiers; Bin Laden backed terrorists attacked the USS Cole; Saddam threatened Kuwait and Saudi Arabia; Hezbollah and Israeli forces clashed; a Saudi Arabian Airline plane was hijacked to Baghdad. And Rift Valley Fever kept on unabated. In other words, it has been busy! Anyway, here's the 32nd Cry "Havoc!" marking the completion of eight years of publication. Our cover story by Brian Train on Nestor Makhno takes a look at an overlooked revolutionary from the Russian civil wars. Newly minted Contributing Editor Ken West provides us two varied articles -- the first on Civil War era revolvers and the second a commentary and a bit of insight. Julie Olson provides us all with another look into the history that is slowly fading, but remains poignant and fascinating nonetheless.
