compiled by John R. Tegtmeier, Charlotte, North Carolina
I've been asking for several years for material like this and finally someone developed one. All annotations are by John Tegtmeier except those marked "DWT" — DWT The reading list itself has been divided into two sections for ease of use. The first section of the reading list contains a core reading list, (marked by a " ") comprised of works both of exceptional merit and focus. The core readings are designed to give both the casual reader and the serious student an overview of the various aspects of the conflicts in Southeast Asia. I strongly suggest that readers who are unfamiliar with Vietnamese culture and society read at least one of the core offerings in that area (e.g. Jamieson's Understanding Vietnam) to gain some perspective before tackling the history of the wars.
