As the large Roman numeral above indicates I again find myself in the pleasant position of thanking everyone who helped keep Cry "Havoc!" going for its fourth year. Support for this modest effort has come from a variety of sources and in a number of different ways. I will not hesitate to point out that without the assistance of all the people mentioned below, Cry "Havoc!" wouldn't exist. I want to start off by mentioning the contributors. Copy is the lifeblood of any newsletter. If only one or two persons were writing for CH, it would quickly degenerate into a newsletter that met the interests of only one or two persons. We've been very fortunate in having a fairly wide selection of offerings from a good number of people. While we don't hear from him as often as we'd like, Jim Bloom brings military history to a new level with his insightful analysis whenever he sends us an article. Brian Toelle's vast knowledge of the B-17 graces the pages of this issue and I for one, hope its not his last appearance here. Jonathan Rice, now of Abu Dhabi, is owed a nod of the hat for his offering on the role of the press in military operations. Regular contributors are no less important, in fact they are critical to the operation here. Mike Flynn is among the best at researching any subject, no matter how seemingly obscure. Jim Werbaneth, who has developed into our traveling correspondent when not editing Line of Departure, continues to provide us with quality material. Where would we be without Bob Miller? Not only does Bob create (and labor over) each cover of Cry "Havoc!" until each one meets his exacting specification but when we can convince him to pen something, its always quality. This year unfortunately saw the departure of our copy editor Kelly West and our editorial assistant Karl Tschanz. Both left gaps in our staff that are going to be difficult, if not impossible, to fill. The coming year promises to be interesting. Brian Train has contributed two games for publication in these pages, the first in February. Our post office is waiting with baited breath for promised articles from Charles Holland and Richard Knight. Holland is preparing a history of artillery and Knight, a Falklands War veteran will bring something from England's military past to our pages. And of course, who knows what the Mensa connection will bring. Thanks to one and all!
