I made it to both Cold Wars and Little Wars this year, and wandered about looking for new items of interest. The lead problem is going to have an effect upon the hobby in more ways than one. First, one can expect an increase in price due to a conversion by most companies to pewter. Second, this conversion process is going to slow down the arrival of new items, as most companies are working on converting their stock to the new metal, and not bringing out new items. There were very few new items out on the market this year. 20mmThe Emperor's Headquarters: The Emperor's Headquarters is now stocking the Skytrex line (old Hinchiffe) of 20mm vehicles. The old MLR dismounted Russian Cavalry will be re-issued as part of the Combat Miniatures line. The Emperor is also now serving as the US distributor for the Hovels Buildings. 5744 West Irving Park Road Chicago, IL 60634 1-800-59-EAGLE Fax: 312- 777-4828 Houston's Tracks: I saw Richard Houston at Little Wars, and picked up several new items. Richard has come out with two versions of the German Boxer light truck. Model number SM-77 is the Kfz 70, which was the personnel version, while model number SM-78 is the Kfz 69, the artillery version. Both kits are $5.00 each. He also now has the French 47mm AT gun, as well as wagons and limbers for both the Germans and Russians. Effective January 1, 1994, Rich will be retiring from the business and taming over his line to Stone Mountain, though he will keep designing items as needed by Stone Mountain. From November 1 to December 1, he will be holding an inventory reduction sale. All items will be 25% off while they last in stock. No orders will be accepted after December 1.

GREENWALD ENTERPRISES Crusader Models: Crusader Models does a mixture of 1/76 and 1/87 resin items. I have a listing from them which includes both WWII and modem items. Prices range from $5.00 for a Bren gun carrier to $25.00 for a Autocar 5-ton tractor, trailer, and LCVP (for cargo). Just the thing for a crossing of the Rhine Game!! No new items listed that I could see mentioned. I was told that due to the success of their 1/200th ACW line, they are considering going with a WWII range as well. They are also now carrying the Mainly Military Building line, which offers 35 different buildings for 1/285 armor.
