Non specialist companies within a regiment are numbered sequentially, the infantry companies within the regiment are numbered 1-12, while the machine gun companies are referred to as the Machine Gun Company of the 1st Battalion, etc. 2. Prior to mobilization in 1937, each infantry battalion had 3 infantry companies and a machine gun company. On mobilization, a fourth infantry company was added to each battalion. 3. Mountain Artillery Regiments have three battalions of 75mm Mountain Guns, while the standard Artillery Regiment was to have one battalion of 105mm howitzers, and 2 battalions of 75mm Field Guns.
