Command What?

LATE AGAIN

Fall of 199? what?? COMMAND what? On well! Once again it seems that all of my attempts to keep to a schedule are doomed to everlasting failure. Issue Dumber 3 finally made it into the mai in early December, two months late, and then I found myself overtaken by current events.

DESERT SHIELD/STORM

As I type this issue on the 17th of January, DESERT SHIELD has become DESERT STORM, and my collection of data has become more relevant. As a result this issue has a special supplement on DESERT SHIELD/STORM. Enclosed with this issue is an TO&E for the forces involved in DESERT SHIED/ STORM, as well as a weapons/vehicle information pull out for Iraq. I am hoping to have this issue mailed by the first of February if at all possible, but I make no further promises - I have learned my lesson.

WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE??

I'd like to start off by thanking all of you who were good enough to write your thoughts down and mail them off to me. I attempted to answer as many as I could, but I am sure that I have missed someone. I greatly enjoyed your comments, which will be used to shape the future of the CP. and would like to thank those especially who took the time to discourse on the merits of Moet and other fine wines. (Bottles of which will still he cheerfully accepted.)

To start with. this will be the last free issue of the CP. Starting with the next issue, the cost will be $8.00 a year for four issues - In addition to the regular CP of at least 16 pages, there will be a minimum of two, and possibly more supplements published for players of CD/CA.

The next issue of the CP will include the long awaited supplement on the Japanese Army in World War IT. Future plans after that point for supplements include three possible issues on the Allied forces In the Pacific, broken on in terms of the Central Pacific Theater, South-West Pacific, and Asia Mainland (Malaya, Burma, and China).

In addition there will be additional supplements on the Mideast, both past and current, as well as one on the Korean War. The current framework will be maintained of using S-1, S-2, etc, though letters to the editor will be cut back due to a lack of space. Rule questions will however will continue to be answered if written in a letter to me. Tt is my goal to ensure that the readership will get its money's worth over the next year.

CLOSING COMMENTS

Several additional items for the record. If anyone out there is artistically talented, I would be most interested in artwork for the purposes of replacing our current headings. The artwork needs to be no greater than 4" by 4". In return for any artwork used, I will be glad to trade you a years subscription to the CP.

Based on the letters of many of you, issue #2 of the CP seems to have disappeared into the bowels of the Post Office. If you did not receive it. which dealt with the French Army of 1939-1940. please let me know and I will send out a copy to you.

That's all for now, till the next issue which should be out XXX XX, XXXX, - good gaming.
