Experimental Rule Project

American Infantry Stands

by Greg Novak

There are a number of rules changes and ideas which Frank and I have been discussing for some time now, which we would be interested in feedback on.

The American Infantry Stands with a ROF of 1 seem to Frank to be somewhat light, in view of the American equipment within each platoon, especially the M-1 Garand rifles. At the same time though, there is very little evidence as to the actual effectiveness of American Infantry in Europe as a whole, though one can find exceptions for specific divisions. (There is some interesting evidence that of the American units rated as Veteran in 1944/45, most of those divisions maintained their own "illegal" recruiting officers at replacement depots to skim off the best replacements to fill their ranks.)

Should therefore VETERAN AMERICAN INFANTRY BE ALLOWED A ROF OF 2 INSTEAD OF THE PRESENT 1?

Comments on this would be appreciated.

For this issue, S-2 will look at German Heavy AntiTank Units of WWII for the CD player, as well as the Army of North Korea from the 1980's for the CA player.
