S-1 (PERSONNEL) is the section of the CP that deals with your letters to the editor, rules modifications, and similar items. There is one very important rule here that I must state in advance, and will adhere to under all circumstances. I WILL NOT PRINT A NEGATIVE LETTER ARTICLE. I define a negative letter as one that attacks something without offering as part of it a constructive solution. Thus, a well written five page letter proving that a given rule is wrong, but which ends without giving a possible solution is in my eyes a negative article. On the other hand a short one page letter stating that "I disagree with this, and here is my solution" is positive, as it gives the reader an option to follow. Over the years I have learned THERE IS NO PERFECT SET OF RULES, and that revision and updates are part of the process of writing a set of rules. Thus if you have a better way of doing something and are willing to share it, please send it in to the CP so that we can run in this column.
