THE SUPPLY DEPOT ENDS! As discussed in the last issue, The Courier has discontinued the Supply Depot. Subscribers will note on the Dummy Cover a special sale of all products still left. This will be on a first come, first served basis and no back orders will be taken. When the stock is gone, there is no more, so please list alternates. The Courier will continue to run specials that will be available on an "only while stocks last" basis and all such offers will be good until the next issue comes out. We will continue to offer "Courier Book Specials" to subscribers only as well as discounts on our own publications. Please Note: As of December 1, we are still waiting for our shipment of "Charge". Those who have ordered them please be patient. THE COURIER NEEDS ARTICLES! The Courier is running short of articles for the Napoleonic period and for the Skirmish section. We can always use articles for other periods as well. For details, send a stamped self-addressed envelope to The Courier, P.O. Box 1878, Brockton, MA 02401. SUPPORT ADVERTISERS One way to insure that The Courier continues to be printed is to support the advertisers who support The Courier. Whenever you buy from one of them, please be sure to let them know that you saw their advertisement in these pages. It is especially important that you at least solicit further information from the people whose full color back page advertisements support our full color covers. This is particularly true when that company is not a miniatures company or one not even in the hobby. You don't have to buy unless you are interested, but do send them an inquiry, so that they know The Courier is reaching a lot of potential customers. ERRATA: VII-1 BRICE'S CROSSROADS SCENARIO In the scenario we omitted the set-on requirements: INITIAL SET-ON: The Union player sets on first. Waring's Brigade deploys within a one-foot radius of the Humphrey house. Winslow's Brigade deploys within an 18" radius of the Ames house. Winslow may take his initial movement as if mounted, but is dismounted at the end of the move. Waring's men are considered dismounted at the beginning of the game. Sturgis himself is present with the infantry as indicated under SPECIAL SCENARIO RULES. After the Union player has deployed, the Confederate player sets on Lyon's Brigade and the Escort Squadron within 18" of the point where the Wire Road leaves the east edge of the table. The balance of the Confederate force enters as indicated under SPECIAL SCENARIO RULES. Also, the Map Scale is 1 1/4" = 500 yards, not 1/4" = 500 yards. HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM THE COURIER STAFF QUOTABLE WARGAME QUOTES"History is fun, but the Game is the thing."
"I don't give a damn what the rules say, I want to do it!"
