Some of these correct errors. Others are "fine tuning" in the light of the first year's public playing experience. The optional changes to regular loose formation infantry will be standardized in future editions, as may also that eliminating casualty removal. We regret the necessity of introducing another range of base sizes to accommodate the 18mm figures now being sold by some manufacturers as 15mm. Complaints should be addressed to the manufacturers, not to us. AMENDMENTSPage 15 Line 27. Delete "5", substitute "6". After "village", insert "or any gully after the first." 24 Add 2: Line 5. QR SHEET Change "C" class reaction scores as specified for Page 25. Change shooting ranges as specified for Page 35. Change qualifying distance for scythed chariot charge to 80 paces. If not previously corrected, move LHI under HI, LMI under MI, and insert LCm under LC in weapon factor table. OPTIONAL CHANGE TO REGULAR LOOSE FORMATION FOOTBase with HI and MI frontage, but present LHI and LMI depth. Troops so based have the same clear terrain moves as HI and MI, but the same reductions and disorder penalties in difficult terrain as present LHI or LMI. They do not count as close formation troops when shooting., being charged by enemy mounted troops, or in any other circumstances. OPTIONAL CHANGE ELIMINATING CASUALTY REMOVALDo not remove figures when 20 casualties have been recieved, or reduce the number of figures allowed to fight or shoot. Count 1/3 strength when it has accumulated 81 casualties. The rationale for this is that a unit's frontage and fighting power did not shrink markedly with practical benefit is that eliminating the need for single figures speeds play. A projected set of "Big Battle" rules intended primarily for 18mm to 15mm figures to be produced in parallel with 6th edition will use new techniques to eliminate both casualty removal and casualty recording. BASING 8mm FIGURESUse -1/3 the frontage specified for 25mm frontage. Depths are as specified for 15mm, except that cavalry have a depth of 30mm. The standard multiple base will therefore be 40mm by 15, 20 or 30mm deep. Identical bases will be used in the "Big Battle" set for 15mm to 20mm figures. 5mm figures will have the same base frontage, twice the number of figures per base, and 5, 10 or 15mm depth. SIMULATING CANTABRIAN AND SKYTHIAN WITHOUT SINGLE FIGURESFor cantabrian, place most of unit in line facing enemy. Place one base at left, facing right, to form L shape. This represents each base in turn circulating parallel to enemy front. Measure range to or from nearest approach of notionally circulating base. All unit's figures shoot. For skythian, mount horse archers two per base in tandem, or use cantabrian as described above instead.UPDATE OF INFORMATION OF TRADERSGreenwood & Ball Ltd., Unit 2A, Princess St., ThornabyonTees, Teesside, were ommitted by mistake, They make excellent 25mm figures.
