Seven Years War campaign histories and informatior about the armies are certainly not as available as those on Napoleonic subjects. In many cases reference wil have to be made to the inter-library loan departments or ones local public or university libraries.

Campaign Histories

Duffy, C.J., The Army of Maira Theresa, Hippocrene, N.Y., 1977.
The Army of Frederick the Great, Hippocrene, N.Y., 1974. Both of Duffy's works are superb with maps, orders of battle, uniforms and extensive bibliographies.
Luvaas, J., Frederick the Great on the Art of War, The Free Press (MacMillan), N.Y., 1966. Good collection of Frederick's writings.
Rothenberg, G.E., The Military Border in Croatia 1740-1881, Chicago, 1966. Best book on subject.
Cole, H.N., Minden 1759, Charles Knight, London, 1972. Knight's Battles for wargamers, order of battle for both armies.
Savory, R., His Britannic Majesty's Army in Germany During the Seven Years War, Oxford University Press, 1966. Known to buffs as the "Bible" - excellent.
Carlyle, T., Frederick the Great (6 volumes), Harper and Bros., N.Y.,1861. Reasonably available in antiquarium shops.
Parkman, F., Montcalm and Wolfe (2 volumes), Little and Brown, Boston, 1884. Extensive history of French and I ndian War.
Leach, D.E., Armies for Empire, A Military History of the British Colonies in North America, 1607-1763, MacMillan, N.Y., 1973. Great Bibliography.
Edwardes, M., The Battle of Plassey, MacMillan, N.Y., 1963. Best book on relatively obscure subject, fascinating wargame possibilities.
Fortescue, Hon. J.W, A History of the British Army, Vol. II, MacMillan, London, 1911. Maps are particularly useful.
Mackesy, Piers, The Coward of Minden - The Affair of Lord George Sackville, St. Martin's N.Y., 1979. Excellent effort in historical detective work, truly a "must-read" volume.
Archenholtz, J.W. Von, The History of the Seven Years War in Germany, Trans. F.A. Catty, C. Jugel, Frankfort a.m., 1843. Very readable by ex-subalten in Frederick's army.
Grosser Generalstab, Der Siebenjahrige Krieg 1756-63, Volumes 1-13, E.S. Mittler & Sohn, Berlin, 1901-14. Massive General Staff history only extending to 1760 however.
Jomini, Baron Henride, Treatise on Grand Military Operations; or A Critical Military History of Frederick the Great (2 volumes and atlas), D. VanNostrand, N.Y.,1865. Map atlas is fantastic.

Kriegsministerium, Regulations for the Prussian Cavalry, Greenwood Press, N.Y., 1968 (Reprint and Trans. of 1757 original).
Regulations for the Prussian Infantry, Greenwood Press, N.Y. 1968 (Reprint & Trans. of 1759 original).
Katcher, P., Armies of the American Wars 1755-1815, Hastings House, N.Y. 1975. Compilation of Osprey book series.
Haswell-Miller, A.E., Dawnay, N.P., Military Drawings and Paintings in the Collection of Her Majesty the Queen, Phaidon, N.Y., 1970 (Vol.1 - Plates, Vol. 2 Text). Plates cover grenadiers of British, Hanoverian and Austrian Armies.

Earle, E.M., Makers of Modern Strategy, Princeton University, Prinston, 1973 (paperback). Useful chapter on Frederick.
Mollo, J., Uniforms of the Seven Years War 1756-63, Hippocrene, N.Y., 1977. Very good, including some orders of battle. An error in Fischer's uniform. Unfortunately not a comprehensive or schematic presentation.
Lawson, Cecil C.P., A History of the Uniforms of the British Army, Vol. 2, L. Peter Davies, London, 1941. Comprehensive treatment of both British and Hanoverian Armies.
Lezius, M. and Knotel, H., Deutsche Uniformen das Zeitalter Friedrichs des Grossen, Strum- Zigaretten, Dresden, 1932.
Mouillard, L., Les Regiments sous Louis XV, Dumaine, Paris, 1882. Rare text plus 57 pages of color plates showing uniforms and standards of almost every unit. 35mm slides are available from your theme editor for this book and the above Sturm album.
Ottenfeld, R. von and Teuber, O., Die Osterreichische Armee 1700-1867, Vienna 1885.
Schirmer, F., Das Celler Soldatenbach, Pohl, Celle, 1937. Good section on Hanoverian artillery.
Nec Aspera Terrent, Hanover, 1929. Most reproduced in Lawson.
Die Heere de Kriegfuhrenden Staaten 1756-1763. Series of pamphlets giving great detail on uniforms. Photo copies available from your theme editor.
Zweguintzov, W., L'Armee Russe, Vol. I, Paris, 1967. Drapeaux et Etendards de L'Armee Russe, Paris, 1964. Both works are comprehensive. The first includes maps and orders of battle. Easily translated.
Ortenburg, Georg, Prussian Hussars circa 1791, Bent Carlsens Forlag Ap S., Copenhagen, 1976. Definitive work on Havoerians, includes all standards.

Bueno, J.M., Soldados de Espana, Malag 1978.
Braithwaite, J., Uniforms of the Seven Years War Prussia, Greenwood & Ball Ltd., Thornaby-on-Tees, 1974.
Uniforms of the Seven Years War- Austria, Greenwood & Ball Ltd., Thornaby-on-Tees, 1975. Both books are excellent. Almost comprehensive treatment of all uniforms and standards. Bargain at less than four dollars each.
Funcken, L & F., The Uniforms & The Arms of the Soldiers of the Lace Wars, Casterman, 1977.
Montandre-Lonchamps, Etat Militaire de France, Paris. This book was published in a new edition each year, including 1756 through 1762. Each edition contains each units' uniforms, royal ordinances for year and names of all general officers among much else.
Susane, L., Histoire de L'ancienne infanterie Francaise, J. Correard, Paris, 1849-53 (8 volumes and plates).
Histoire de l'ancienne cavalerie, J. Hetzel, Paris, 1874 (3 volumes). Both Susane series consist of brief regimental histories, uniforms and standards for all units.
Histoire de l'Artillerie Francaise, J. Hetzel, Paris, 1874 (I cannot locate a copy or photocopy of this volume, help!).
Also valuable are the plate series of Herre and Tradition, Menzel, Military Uniforms in America (Company of Military Historians) and the continuing Le Plumet series by Rigo.
