Advertising Manager The Courier has brought a new staff member on board,an advertising manager in the person of Pete English. Pete is well know in the hobby having been instrumental in making HAVOC a success each year and in being its director for the last two years. Pete has worked in the trenches of the HMGS conventions ofor many years and is often seen at the Convention registration desk. He also runs many games at each convention. Most recently Pete has been running Vietnam period games and an article of his appears in this issue. As advertising manager, Pete will be responsible for the revenue flow that will enable us, I hope, to increase our publication rate to six per year by next year and to add some internal color pages to the magazine. More about that in a later editorial. Civil Disorder I came across these rules some time ago and always wanted to publish them. I have always been a fan of “skirmish” gaming such as Wild West, and Irish Rebellion games. They are as close to Historical Role Playing games as we come. Civil Disorder fits right in with that genre and I am glad that I finally located Jim Wallman in England and get to publish his rules. They have been updated since their original version. One problem! In looking for illustrations for the article, I went to the web and did a search on Riots and came up with photos that I used a piece of in the article. Unfortunately when I went back to the web to find them again so that I could properly cite the photos owners, I could not re-locate them. So if anyone knows who they are, please get the info to me so I can give them proper recognition. Convention Season The Courier has organized 56 games in The paradise room at Historicon ‘02 this year. The Paradise Room is arguabley the best room at the Lancaster Host Hotel for gaming. The games are sponsored by The Courier and various advertisers in these pages. Included will be a Cross Fire Tournament with over $100 in prizes. last year we gave out over $1000 in prizes to participants in The Courier’s games. We give prizes to the best player on each side as as chosen by his opponents. This tend to make for good sportsmanship all around. The games are hosted by members of tThe Courier Staff and authors of articles that appear in these pages. Thanks, guys for all your support.
