War Trivia

By Otto Schmidt

We all read a lot of books and magazines in the pursuit of our hobby. Some of it is completely boring. However, there are, occasionally, some more interesting parts. Now you've all seen those excruciating trivia tests in magazines and books, but few of them deal with our hobby in any direct way, and most of the trivia games dealing with history test only the most rudimentary top-of-the-brain knowledge.

This test is different, and I hope something of a mind teaser. There are several categories, try it from the simplest on up. Now, some of these are trick questions. I don't mean trick questions in the sense of checking for punctuation, but rather, what is asked and how it is asked, and more important, what I have NOT told you and how I have chosen not to tell you. You can't sit down and just dash these off.

Some of the questions are out of history, and some may be from well-known historical fiction, and still others may be from a closely related field to military history. So if you don't get it right away, ask your friends, make their lives miserable. The most fun will be to go down to the library and ask Old Mrs. Beemish to help you. She'll really be stumped.
