(810) 546-6781. Guernsey Foundry has released a whole swarm of Seven Years War figures in 28 mm. The first figures out the door are about Prussians: grenadiers, musketeers, fusiliers and cuirassiers in pare' ground order, and Freikorps in campaign order. The basic poses of each type (e.g. musketeer with no lapels and Swedish cuffs at man attack) are provided in 5 variants. The first two dozen Russians a also in campaign order, wearing long-sleeved waistcoats. There are musketeers and grenadiers, as well as a selection of cossacks. Ea cossack figure is available both on foot and mounted. The SYW list is expected to grow to about 500 figures. Also in 25 mm are three new lines of figures, each with about 18 bags of figures and its own set of skirmish-level rule Katana covers warfare in feudal Japan from 1250-1550, Warpaint cavalry against Indians in the American West, and Sons of the Desert pits the French Foreign Legion of 1890-1925 against the Arabs. Th islast line has, in addition to the figures, a fort of high density foam. They have also added some interesting items to the ACW line, including boy soldiers, elderly command, ragged troops, and some rude infantry! Two Dragons has turned out more Anglo-Normans. The "Saxon types" include a huscarl with axe, spearman, bowman and a couple of unarmored skirmishers with spears. while the "norman types'' include two spearsmen, knights with spear or sword, an unarmored slinger, and a scout on horseback riding at speed and holding onto his helmet. MAGAZINESFirst Empire is a glossy British magazine (no interior color) intended for the Napoleonic "enthusiast, historian, and gamer." The Dec/Jan issue has a history of the banle of Lodi with maps and terrain photographs, an article by Peter Hofschroer arguing that the battle of Ligny occured in the fonm that it did because Wellington deceived the Prussians about his dispositions and intentions, Blucher's staff made a number of important errors, and Napoleon's performance was wanting. There is also an account of Cochrane's exploits as commander of the Chilean Navy in their War of Independence, a biography of Massena, reviews, letters, and some short notes. $36 /6 issues.
