These periodicals generally include articles about national military affairs, foreign developments, weapons, and book reviews. The selection is based on publications that are most likely to be available to the U.S. researcher, either in local libraries or by subscription (controlled distributions have been omitted). Almost all feature charts and photographs (often in color), and many of the foreign language periodicals offer English summaries. This is not meant to be a comprehensive list of foreign military periodicals, but rather publications of general interest. Specialized journals, such as those for national military history or for particular arms, will be presented in future listings.
