Nomonhan, 1939

Most of the materials for the article derived from Japanese language sources and from field interviews in Japan. A useful Russian language work is Col. S. Shishkin, Khalkhin-gol (Moscow, 1954). Among English language sources, the most helpful include the series of monographs prepared by Japanese officers and edited by American historians (including Dr. Coox) under title of Japanese Special Studies on Manchuria, issued by the Japanese Research Division, Hq. USAFFE/8th Army (Rear). Other relevent sources follow:
