Quality Castings Quality Castings continues to expand and improve the line of 15mm figures and vehic1es. At Historicon they had crews for the 88mm and 20mm quad flak guns. These crews fit the weapons perfectly. The poses are accurate and make the weapons come to life. Other new items include redone German and Russian 120mm mortars and motorcycle dispatch riders for the Russians and Germans. Vehicles and guns now come in value packs. Coming attractions include German Panther variants, the US 3" gun, the UK 17lbr. AT gun, the US Jumbo Sherman, German 251 D Halftrack and variants, and French motorcyc1es and riders. One of our tournament players said he bought infantry to get some different poses. Sounded like a good idea, so we visited their table. We were quite disappointed. They had two packs of German infantry, one for the early war and one for the late war. The only difference we could see was that the early war pack had fewer figures with helmets. We asked if the late war pack contained figures with assault rifles. The salesman answered that they all had rifles. After further questioning, it became clear that he had no idea what an assault rifle was. Also, while the pack did contain sub-machine guns, the big disappointment was that there were no light machine guns. They will come in another pack which is not yet in production. Finally, as far as we could tell looking at them in the bag, the figures were nothing special. In the end, the figures stayed on Old Glory's table and our money in our pockets. Crusader Models Crusader Mode1s has added three new models to the line, a T34/85, a Marder III, and a Polish 7TP jw. All three vehicles are well done. The T34 fits in well with our other resin vehicles and provides a good physical match along with our 1/76 ISU 152s. Marder IIIs are a welcome addition for any German force. The prize is the Polish 7TP jw. For all of those players who want to game 1939, this vehicle is a must. All the vehicles are clean, go together easily (what else would one expect with resin), and paint up well. The cost per vehicle is $9.00.
