World War II Tournament

To be Held at Historicon 95

Tournament Format

The theme for this tournament is combat in built up areas and difficult terrain. Each player will play three rounds. The three rounds will contain one defensive scenario, one offensive scenario, and one meeting engagement. Using the results of the first scenario, the best defensive player will be slotted against the best offensive player. Second best against second best and so on. For round three, players will be slotted against each other based on their total score from the first two rounds.

Scoring will be based on scenario objectives.

The registration fee is $5.00. Players must provide their own 20 mm or 15 mm figures, models, terrain features such as trees, ground cloth, and five buildings. Each player will provide two sets of figures. One set will be Germans; the other set can be any one of the following Allied Armies: Americans, British, or Russian. Both nationalities must have figures for an attacking force of 1,000 points and a defending force of 450 points.

Thus, each player will have four sets of figures--an attacking and defending set for the Germans, and an attacking and defending set for an Allied Army. Each force must have a designated commander, at least one infantry HQ, and a chain of command. Rules to be used are Battalions in Crisis. Players must use the point system contained in Module II 1944- 1945.

Pre-registration is advised as the judge will review entries and notify players of any problems with their lists. To pre-register, send unit listings and the $5.00 entrance fee to Phoenix Military Simulations by 21 June 1995. Include player names, address, and evening phone number. The address for Phoenix Military Simulations is 12633 Carrington Hill Drive, Gaithersburg, MD 20878. There are a limited number of openings depending on how much space HMGS allocates to us.
