Tournament Format

Each player will play three rounds. The three rounds will contain one defensive scenario, one offensive scenario, and one meeting engagement. Using the results of the first scenario, the best defensive player will be slotted against the best offensive player, second best against second best, and so on. For scenano three, players will be slotted against each other based on the combined scores of the first two scenarios.

Scoring will be based on scenario objectives and casualties.

Significant terrain features will be provided; players will Provide their own 15 mm or 20 mm figures, models, secondary terrain features like trees, and ground cloth. Each player will provide two sets of figures. One set will be Germans; the other set can be any of the following Allied Armies: Americans, British, or Russian. Each army must have listings for an attacking force of 1,000 points and a defending force of 450 points. The meeting engagement will use the attacking force. Thus each player will have four lists-an attacking and defending list for the Germans, and an attacking and defending list for an Allied Army. Each force must have a designated commander and chain of command. There must be at least one infantry HQ unit. Rules to be used are Battalions In Crisis! Players must use the point system contained in Module II: 1944-1945 Equipment and vehicles are limited to those introduced before 1944. No vehicles or equipment put into service after 1943 are allowed.

Registration is $5.00. In order to ensure that we have enough space at Cold Wars, players should pre-register as soon as possible. To pre-register, send the $5.00 entrance fee to Phoenix Military Simulations, 12633 Carrington Hill Drive, Gaithersburg, MD, 20878. Include player's name, address, and evening phone number. Army listings need to be submitted by 15 February 1995.
